300 wsm (winchester short magnum) is a short action, you just wouldn't be able to use a pmag because the cartridge is fatter, modified AI'S would work.

I look for them to discontinue the 243, it's a great caliber, wrong platform I.M.O. The 22-250 might've been a better choice than the 243. But there again, I just don't see the point of offering varmint calibers in tactical platforms.
