  1. Never owned a .22, but this sale at Alexander's tomorrow (4/30) seems decent....

I have nothing against them, just never bought one.

  3. Publix standing rib roast-$6.99 lb

Yeah, the only meat I buy from there is their $.99/lb pork butts. I'm gonna get some heat here, for this comment, but I'll put Wal Mart's Angus brand up against Kroger meat any day. I buy their Angus Ribeye and they're always heavily marbled, but not enough to be graded "Prime." I will say...
  4. Publix standing rib roast-$6.99 lb

I went to Kroger yesterday and took a look at their standing rib roasts for $6.97/lb. I was shocked at the lack of marbling. Of course, there was plenty of fat on the edges, but almost zero in the meat. It was graded as "Choice" but I swear it looked like "Select." I passed and will go back to...
  5. Publix standing rib roast-$6.99 lb

Since I have to severely limit my sodium intake, I can't really eat much there anyway. I'll go by on occasion to get my bride a large sweet tea, but that's just about it.
  6. Publix standing rib roast-$6.99 lb

I'm looking forward to it. I'm also surprised that there will be a Chick-fil-A next to it. I would have thought that the Ellijay Chick would be too close, but I guess that one is busy enough to justify one in Jasper.
  7. Publix standing rib roast-$6.99 lb

I bought a 7lb one and had the butcher cut it into 2” steaks because it would be too much for me and my wife. Trimmed the fat Steaks turned out great
  8. Publix standing rib roast-$6.99 lb

I know this thread is about standing rib roasts, but Publix also has Pork Picnic for $1.99/lb.
  9. Save a lot had T bones for 3.99 pound

Oh, I gotcha. BTW, Publix has standing rib roast for $6.99/lb.
  10. Save a lot had T bones for 3.99 pound

How else would a store get their meat, but by a truck?
  11. Kroger and Publix sale

That sounds great. Butter under the skin is the way to go.
  12. Kroger and Publix sale

What did you end up using and how did it turn out. Here’s mine. Absolutely loved how it tasted.
  13. Kroger and Publix sale

Happy Thanksgiving to you too, sir.
  14. Kroger and Publix sale

Yeah, that’s a great way to do it, especially getting it under the skin.
  15. Kroger and Publix sale

@fast306stang , my wife reminded me I brined my turkey in this last year…
  16. Kroger and Publix sale

Of I’m going to marinate the bird overnight, I simply use a combination of seasonings in my kitchen cabinets. If I’m going to put it straight on the grill, I just use McCormick Grill Mates Montreal Chicken Seasoning. It’s the only one that I find consistently works on all poultry, when I don’t...
  17. Alexanders Big, I mean Big Blowout sale for Black Friday sale

It's correct, I got the same email ad.
  18. Kroger and Publix sale

I did a spatchcocked a turkey on Thanksgiving and was told I had to do it that way every year. I love them because they are never dried out.
