A little update. I changed the Dana 60 axle out and put a 12 bolt 5 lug in it so I could get some better looking wheels. I got the axel off of FB market and rebuilt it. I’ll add LSD later after I make sure the axle is smooth and quiet. It is all back together except I need a one piece drive...
Also I recently redid and updated the gage cluster.... added led lights and painted the needles and added a couple of gages.

After the Epoxy primer came some minor filler work and then 2K primer. The sandable stuff that fills in minor imperfections and really makes the paint job stand out. Again, this stuff sprayed great and sanded even better. By the way I hate sanding! it really sucks. I sanded the entire interior...

This ment a new gas tank was needed. Also...
So now the frame was cut down and I had the short bed at the house I had to try it on for size. At this point I decided the whole truck would need a repaint. There was no way I could match the crappy blue paint and I did not want a black and blue truck.
Liking the short bed look already. So...
Jan of 2021 I started the short bed conversion. First I had to strip the bed off of the truck, no easy task when you are trying to unbolt 50 year old rusted up bolts. But I eventually got the bed off and due to all of the rest I decided not to cut the bed down but to just buy a new reproduction...
Yes. Those are from my late father in law.
Also I got a couple of license plates for the walls from a fellow ODTer. And a cool old bumper from everyone’s favorite tooth puller @drsmile
So about 4 years ago I decided I wanted an old truck. Cause everybody needs a car that is older then their kids, gets 7 miles to the gallon, and breaks down all the time. So I started out with a 1984 Ford pick up. Great truck, little bit of rust and I traded into it for an AK that I was not...
