I have been to the drag strip. The Mustang 2 is a fat Pinto. Take the Pinto add sound deadening and a 400 pound body kit and you have a Mustang 2. Anything that fits one fits the other and a Pinto weighs less. -

A few random questions. Is the fuel tank vented. ? go drive it with the gas cap off and see if it runs better. Also look at the new fuel lines and make sure there are no kinks or squished lines. Follow it all the way to the tank. You could have high fuel pressure due to a restriction. Is it... -

Has it got a good bright spark? Good cap and rotor ? Good connection to the coil ? Lighter springs on the distributor weights would help it rev better and earlier. How much vacuum at idle ? It the timing cover pointer in the right spot. -
