    Upgraded front end.

17th annual St. Jude Car Show in Ft. Oglethorpe last weekend.
  3. 1968 Suburban w/ ambulance package project.

Exact purpose of this truck, something the whole family can enjoy and cruise in. With 4 kids the 4runners couldn’t fit everyone, and getting a 67-72 blazer wouldn’t work. I lucked out and this 78 fell into my lap. Still a lot to do and it’s a driver over show, but still a lot of fun.
  4. 1968 Suburban w/ ambulance package project.

Finally got to use the Suburban for its purpose today, fun times with the family. Seats mounted, seat belts in, and loaded up with the family.
  5. 1968 Suburban w/ ambulance package project.

Now have to figure out what to do with the front headliner and mount the rear seats.
  6. 1968 Suburban w/ ambulance package project.

Started the headliner. I think it’s going to turn out pretty sweet.
  7. 1968 Suburban w/ ambulance package project.

  8. 1968 Suburban w/ ambulance package project.

Walk around and a little rev.
  9. 1968 Suburban w/ ambulance package project.

Some interior work completed this weekend. Also plenty of driving fun.
  10. 1968 Suburban w/ ambulance package project.

Saw one online similar but orange that he called the orange dreamsicle. Said I would call mine Mint Chocolate Chip, but still a little up in the air.

Yeah I had the entire truck harness replaced with a painless kit. All new wires and all labeled perfectly, also pre set up for radio, Dakota digital gauges, and electric fans. The engine runs on the Fi-Tech harnes which though a little long is very clean.
  12. 1968 Suburban w/ ambulance package project.

Brought her home today, taking her back tomorrow. Temp got a little high and electric fans aren’t both cutting on. Also needs an alignment bad. Was nice to drive get pictures and clean it up a bit. So much work to do. Also needs a good tune.
  13. 1968 Suburban w/ ambulance package project.

Before exhaust, one of the first start ups.
  14. 1968 Suburban w/ ambulance package project.

It’s getting there. Cool family vehicle has been my goal from the start. Originally wasn’t going to drop it, but issues with the brake manufacturer lead to me ending up getting drop spindles. Then the rest fell into place. I can’t wait to get it to the house and begin work on the interior, a...

That would look good, and match the truck pretty well.
  16. 1968 Suburban w/ ambulance package project.

Exhaust turned out great, and was a much nicer drive back to the shop. Unfortunately, the high rise FI-Tech intake is pulling oil out the breather ports, so now we add a catch can. Road and drove pretty great. Still some adjustments to be made.
  17. 1968 Suburban w/ ambulance package project.

The opposite of what most would. As quiet as I can get with out being too restrictive. Duals exiting just beside the rear wheels.
  18. 1968 Suburban w/ ambulance package project.

Drove it with out exhaust to the muffler shop. My 3500 is getting doors painted, so I couldn’t to it. Hard to tell how it drives when the noise past 2500 rpm’s feels like it’s damaging my ears. Beautiful truck though. Can’t wait to get the interior caught up.
