  1. Mechanic certified for rebuild title work?

I bought an out of state vehicle with a salvage title once. Had to get it inspected here to get a GA title. Low and behold, a repair that passed in the other state, did not pass inspection in GA. I had to take it to a certified rebuilder to get it done right and have it re-inspected. Giant pain...
  2. Car insurance

I should prob do some shopping around myself. Been with Progressive for well over a decade, but I don't think my rate is all that bad. I pay around 1400/yr for full coverage on a 2018 Tundra crew cab 4x4. I've got a friend that pays around 2000/yr for minimum liability with uninsured motorist...
  3. Any of you lesbians got experience with Subarus?

My girlfriend has had her 2017 Outback for about 4 years now and she loves it. Only things I recall that we've had to replace on it so far are tires and brakes. She did want a newer 4Runner but her parents talked her out of it due to the price and gas mileage on those things.
  4. Dash Camera

I probably could, but can't say that I have done that. I didn't realize at the time when I initially posted in this thread that there is a huge difference between the commercial/fleet market and personal vehicle market when it comes to dashcams. I mostly only install commercial/fleet stuff...
  5. New Tacomas are out

I didn't think they were all that ugly, aside from that hideous Baja wanna be Trailhunter model. Then I watched a video on the TRD Pro model and realized they are all ugly as hell.
  6. New Tacomas are out

I'd agree with this. For what they charge for the Tacoma's, might as well spend a little more and get a Tundra that has more power and more room with the same gas mileage. Pre-2022 models of course, I wouldn't touch those new ones with a 10 foot pole.
  7. New Tacomas are out

Interesting... I don't exactly hate it, but it does kind of look to me like the new Tundra and a new Ford Ranger had a baby and this is the result. Curious to see how spacious the interior is or isn't and what the MPG numbers look like. A bit afraid to see how they price them.
  8. Dash Camera

I'd still recommend GPS Insight. Verizon cameras are usually pretty good, at least the newer AI ones. Their GPS trackers are what I usually see the most problems with, but again Verizon's customer support is garbage. I can give you my company owner's name and number. He has been installing...
  9. Dash Camera

I install a ton of Verizon equipment in fleet and commercial vehicles. Having said that, I also get a lot of repair tickets for Verizon equipment. Also, Verizon customer service is a royal PIA from what I hear pretty regularly. I definitely do NOT recommend Verizon to anyone, but if you must...
  10. Dash Camera

I've installed quite a few. What questions do you have? I guess I should add that installing dash cams and GPS devices is what I do for a living.
  11. 2023 Ford Mustang revealed..........

Looks like the bastard child of an Audi and a Camaro
  12. Any of you gearheads around Cobb county up for helping a 16 year old finish his hot rod?

I'd be willing to give a look if I was a bit closer, but I'm nowhere near an expert mechanic and don't get over that way very much.
  13. What options do I have in looking for a Manual SUV/crossover?

I don't have much input as far as the manual transmission options, but if you were looking at Subaru I'd personally recommend almost any other model over the Crosstrek. My girlfriend was set on either a Subaru or a Toyota 4runner. We looked at the Crosstrek, Ascent, Forester, and Outback. She...
  14. In market for a new 4x4 Pickup - what brand?

I'd wait a year or two for them to work out all the issues. All the 2022 Tundras I've seen on dealer lots so far are used and under 1000 miles. Seen a lot of stuff about turbo wastegate failures and bad body fitment issues so far.
  15. In market for a new 4x4 Pickup - what brand?

I don't have ownership experience with every truck out there, but I have test driven or rented most them within the last 3 yrs. I went with the Tundra, currently have a 2018 TRD Off Road Crew cab 4x4 with a bit over 90k miles with no issues. Gas mileage isn't great, but it's not terrible. I...
  16. New Tundra unveiled

I also still dont understand why the 4.6L V8 was an option for the Tundra for all these years, but they never made it an option for the newer Tacomas that are the same size as the older Tundras.
  17. New Tundra unveiled

Ugly but I still think it looks better than the Titan or the new Fords. If the twin turbo V6 was diesel I'd be a lot more interested. Still dont understand why Toyota has yet to make a diesel option. I dont really have a need for a diesel, but if its a gas engine, I still want a V8 in a truck.
  18. The Official Truck Picture Thread..

My new (to me) 2018 Toyota Tundra. Still waiting for tag to arrive. Already switched to black badges and black trd decals. Needs a lot darker tint than whats on it currently. Trying to figure out how to cover chrome on grill and bumpers. Hard to find a vinyl match for this paint color...
  19. Lifting a '15 Tundra

Good info. I appreciate it. I'm going to stick with 20s. Pretty sure my truck doesnt have tpms. Not sure if it wasnt offered in 2015 or just wasnt available on the SR5 trim level. I think I've figured out exact wheel/tire combo I want now. Did a lot of reading on Tundra forums and found some...
  20. Lifting a '15 Tundra

I'll probably end up with 20s, but I dont see how 18s would be an issue on the truck when the stock wheels are 18s.
