Very minimal if any. I wet tumble, dry, anneal, resize then dry tumble before they go into the Giruad. You anneal with live primers in the case? :pop2:
I love dry tumbling after annealing and resizing my brass. Comes out really pretty. I use frankford arsenal corncob media. Not really any dust. I got some corncob off Amazon and that stuff was very dusty. Sent it back for refund.
I love my co-ax press. No shell holders needed and just a great design. Dies slide in and out.
For scale I’m running a Fx-120i with Autotrickler. I only reload for precision though.
What’s wrong with 1,000 yds? These loads where making headshots at 850 on man size silhouettes.
Change the powder and brass and I’m thinking 1,000 will easily be in the picture. Also got some 77gr SMKs delivered today too.
1/8 twist. Groups are acceptable and I think can be improved. I want this to be a 1,000 yd gun so I'm interested in the consistency with the velocities at distance.
I'm going to get some good brass down the line. I'm sure that will help. Just using the 450s b/c I have 5k on hand.
And yes, it is a Tikka bolt gun with 24" barrel.
Just started reloading .223 Rem and I'm not very happy with my SD/ES performance. I also reload 6.5CM and have SDs below 5 and ES around 10-13 consistently now.
For my .223 I'm using once fired LC brass from some Black Hills ammo. CCI 450s, TAC and Berger 73gr Target BT bullets. Case prep is...
Beginner here. About 133 rounds into reloading for 6.5CM. They've all one bang and doing my part the groups with the charges the rifle likes are .3-.4 MOA.
Here is my small setup which I'm already thinking about expanding with another bench similar to this one but longer for an L-shaped desk.
