I had the same experience, I found no reason to continue to go through the extra steps of volume sorting when weight sorting good brass takes care of it. I must admit It sure is fun finding out on your own and seeing it first hand and I’ve never been one to take other people’s word without...
I started with a lee single stage a year ago and it has definitely helped the learning process. When you do everything one step at a time, it allows you to focus on the details of each stage and catch mistakes easier. You don't have to worry about machine setup. And now Im moving on to a lock...
I have the deluxe trimmer and it works. Pretty foolproof, but you do have to buy caliber specific dies. It is not meant for high vloume, but no manuel trimmers are. It beats the lee zip trim by far. one of these days i might pony up and get an electric.
You are correct, I misspoke while multi tasking while responding. To many things on the brain at once. I wasn't reloading at the time though, I have to concentrate on that!
I have three manuals, sierra, lee, and hornady. I also printed off hodgdons data. I trust sierra loads for their bullets, and being I started reloading only a year ago, I'm trying to save myself time narrowing accurate loads. I figure if sierra recommends it, it must be close. I can load safely...
Why is it when I buy a powder or a box of bullets, I buy the ones that's hard to find data for? It started with cfe .223, I like the powder but a newer powder doesn't have an abundance of load data. I bought some 165 game kings and damn if it the powder I have (h4895) isn't really listed in the...
Hard to get any specific powder right now, I like cfe223 but didn't have any left to try on the .308. 4320 grouped ok at 100, and I have some gauges coming to accurately measure bullet length for my gun. Probably going to pick up some accuracy there. I would like to try varget, when ever I can...
Anybody have any load recipes they are willing to share. All i have powder wise is IMR4320 right now, its a lot of compressed loads which i'm not digging. .308 sierra game king in 165 grain.
I would add that if you get away from stock 55gr fmj's, the price increases for factory rounds. My ar has a 1in7 twist rate barrel, it prefers heavier bullets. I can load custom match ammo in various grains for less or about the same as cheap ammo. If you shoot 55gr, it may be cheaper to save...
