It's a magazine-style reloading manual. Hodgdon puts a new one out each year to update new powders and calibers. I usually find em in the magazine stand at Walmart in late December or early January when they come out. They're usually gone pretty quick. There's not a huge amount of different...
No problem yote....sounds like a good time. I don't have access to any long range property anymore, so I have to contend with the masses at the 100yd ranges at Cohutta or John's Mountain.
I just picked up the new annual Hodgdon 2018 Manual and it also has an article on the 6.5-300 Wby. They...
They'll do fine. The 50 Beowulf calls for large magnum pistol primers. I use the Winchester WLPs in it with H110 pushing a 500gr Hornady XTP-FP.
I did however get get my heart broke last year on Christmas eve morning because of a WLP... I had a huge buck come in on me with a doe. I got my...
I recently procured a 30-378 Weatherby, trying to decide whether to stay in the 175gr- 200gr range with it, or make a super laser out of it. It'll push a 130gr Barnes TTSX 3,700 FPS, that's 100 FPS faster than the 6.5-300 with the 127gr LRX.
I got mine for deer mainly...nice flat long range without loosing alot of meat from impact, yet hits like a freight train! And, you dont have to compensate for bullet drop out to 400yds. I love me some Weatherby's!!!:becky:
The factory 127gr LRX ammo is $90 per 20rds! Loading it is definitely cheaper. Barrel life is approximately 400-500 rounds from what I've read. Letting it cool off between shots would definitely help extend the barrel life. Oddly the faster, the more accurate with this one from what I can tell...
Ahhh.....welcome to the Brotherhood! Lol!. I have the 6.5-300 in a Mark V Ultralight topped with a Nightforce SHV 5-20 x56 myself. I found an issue of Handloader magazine awhile back that featured the 6.5-300. They tried several bullets in it, but the Barnes 127gr LRX is the shining star in the...
Speer has been using small primers in 45acp about as long as Federal has.....they are both ATK owned. Used to find em all the time when I reloaded for a living. They were usually in batches of brass acquired from LE departments/ranges.
I'm looking for RCBS neck sizing dies for 30-378 Weatherby and 338-378 Weatherby. I just figured I'd try here first before I order them. Thanks in advance.
What's hilarious is on a few occasions in the past I've had people come up to me at gun shows and buy a box of Hornady 300gr XTP'S for loading 50AE, then they'd come back wanting their money back because it wasn't loaded ammo. They thought they were getting the deal of the century on "50 rds" of...
