Great advice above. As Rolling Trip said, shadowing someone who is already doing it is very informative.
I did that when I started back in the day.
Some decent youtube videos as well.
Universal Clays is great up to 9mm + P rounds, 45 ACP and 12 Gauge.
Consistent, consistent, consistent.
That said, Titegroup will not have me turn my nose up.
I stopped loading my own when 1k cases of brass 9mm hit $169. I was in the 14 cpr range rolling my own. Still had a few k of SP primers laying around same for projos and tons of once used brass.
Along comes Covid, and primers disappeared. Made those rounds and am now just waiting it out.
Bad...
I got turned on to Universal, and really like it. Had been a Titegroup before.
As all said, start at bottom and work up. I have found best accuracy at standard (up to 35 yds) distances are best with just a tad above cycling velocities.
Hard to make economic sense at those quantities. I figured 5k-7500 rounds before investment in equip made sense, and only if I really cared about accuracy.
Passed that long ago, but that was in the days of sub $200 cases of 9mm, and $350 cases of 223, and surplus 308 at $400 case.
Times are...
