Reloading for friends and etc...
Don't
for all of the reasons stated above and more.
as for Gunsmithing,
Q: Whats the difference between a Gunsmith and a large pizza?
A: A Large pizza feeds a family of 4
Just a suggestion...
I Sort my brass into 'lots' of like stamps. ie PMCs in a lot, Winchesters in another, Federals in another.
After a run I will run a few dozen across the scale to check. this prevents too much 'case weight difference.'
as others have said, always inspect cases for damage...
I will +1 all of the voices here regarding starting on a single stage.
Never load distracted, tired, or drinking
there is no such thing as too much light.
Slow... go for quality instead of Quantity.... reloading 500 rounds an hour doesn't matter when #4 is overcharged and blows your hand apart...
Looking Good!
Yeah I wasn't trying to rain on your parade. I just wanted to look out.
You'd be surpised by what people assume they know, only to learn it different the hard way.
just as an idea... a thought or a suggestion...
you might want to reconsider location.
after inspecting a few dozen houses while shopping, I noticed that many of them have 'arc' spots in the breaker boxes.
not sure you want to be reloading or storing/using solvents, cleaners or other chemicals...
BEST thing that anyone every told me was to use bluedot with my .45
Damn case was almost full with a single charge!
a double charge and it runneth over...
Dirty as hell, and it wound up actually costing me more per round than the IMR I run now, but in the long run it probably saved me a few...
Absolutely... jump right in and go for it!
The first time you double-charge will be your last!
seriously, It's a "walk before you run" thing.
You can get an inexpensive single stage, perfect the who what and where for a few months.
Not everyone does it but I have seen too many new loaders make...
Firemarshal Bob... you say you think I have too much powder and too many primers.
Before you come-a-bustin' in my door, ask yerself this: "WHY would he have 750 thousand primers and 120# of powder?"
:pound:
+1
I will add that some "working dads and husbands" can do it, look at it as a hobby. I will clean, setup a few hundred cases an afternoon on my little single stage then not 'load' them for a few weeks er so.
I have several thousand commercial target and SD loads in store , so the need to reload...
