How does w296 play if you use a reduced load? Also almost every bullet Weight cast or jacketed has data for 4227. I use plated bullets in 125 grain and 158 grain. So I try to keep em under 1300 fps load data.
I have gotten fantastic results. Anybody else use 4227?
I'm also looking for suggestions on other powders! I've got two pounds of 4227 left then I wasn't to see if I can get better results with something else. I also have a pound of hs-6. I plan in using it to load some 38 special
Yes to the shell holder question. As for the primers the center is hollow and the primers go through the center and kick out and land inside the base of the press. I just drilled out a big hole in the bench and made a catch tray for the spent primers.
So I got my lee universal decapping die and $26 single stage lee press. Makes reloading a lot smoother. I don't get all the junk from decapping all over the carrier plate on my press. Add on hand priming and using the lee pro 1000 is not a headache lol.
i picked one up at a walmart for $32. its an RCBS. its easy and smooth almost no effort required and the primer is actually seated all the way. with the lee i had sideways primers no primer it was just a pain in the ass. i also had some that would not seat all the way i assume that is not the...

I like these bullets a lot. I loved the accuracy. I loaded them over 16 grains of imr4227. They shot fantastic out of a 6 inch ruger my lcr and 327 night guard
I've got 25 pieces of 300 wsm brass I'm looking to trade for 357 mag brass. The 300 brass is once fired range pick up brass. I can tumble the brass if you'd like.
I got the hammer style. The rounds I was playing with before I got my calipers came out easy. After setting the die properly they are alot harder to get out lol. So I assume my roll crimp is set just right. No marking or tearing up the jacket just a good firm crimp
Lol yea. It took me a while to get the dies and powder all dialed in. Like 45 min for 10 rounds . After that I spit out 30 rounds in 10 minuets. I am going to the range Saturday after I pick up my new to me 6 inch gp100 and another lcr357 .
I have a question though. Some where through out...
