Got it. Clearly a dull tool.
Also, unless the trimming process has produced a burr on the outside edge of the case mouth, chamfering the outside really isn't necessary.
I'm not clear exactly what you are getting, but if it's an edge on the case mouth you are over doing either the inner or outer chamfer. Or both. There should still be a flat area between the two chamfers.
Typically the inner chamfer is more pronounced than the outer. The outer should be very...
No, that's not normal. I have several of these and all have been of the best quality and do an excellent job. Contact them and tell them what's going on. I would be very surprised if they don't make it right.
No help on a sorting machine, but maybe a suggestion to get the most out of the brass.
Plan A: Sell it as is for cheap. No work.
B: Sort by brand and sell it for more, which is what it sounds like you are planning.
C: Sort by brand and weight sort with a max 4gr spread in each group. This will...
Not really. You can still get a pretty good idea of accuracy at 65 yards. You just need to look at MOA and translate what that means. At 65 yards 1 MOA is 0.65 inches center to center. Half MOA is half that.
There are incidents where you will get radically different accuracy at longer ranges...
This where my interest in firearms and politics can come into conflict. My first reaction to the thread title was, "CNN, MSNBC, NPR... Hell, take your pick."
I've actually got one with a disengaged drive now and I use it as a trickle after throwing the charge by volume. That's the fastest way I have found to get very precise charges, though I never tried to speed it up when the drive was engaged.
Yep. I have found the same thing, but I'm too OCD to leave the extra weight in the charge. LOL! I simply use the brush that comes with it to pick up a kernel or two. Once you get the hang of it with each powder, it's surprisingly easy to take out the right amount doing this.
I think I've got some bad news for you. I have used this for several years now and when it indicates the charge is done it will always say the target weight. However, it's not necessarily the true weight. You have to wait and let it cycle through the charge count after it's finished throwing the...
