I went with the 460 like the other guys said, as far as versatility it can't be beat. I found the lighter grain hornady loads pretty cheap considering. I also reload so instant brass.
I know this stuff is out there I just can't seem to find any. Anyone know where this stuff can be had? Looking to give it try. Has anybody used this powder yet? Is it any good. I shoot a ton of jacketed 9mm was curious if it's worth it?
Anyone seen the new CFE pistol powder out there yet?? Want to try it out but have not been able to locate any. If any of you guys have loaded anything with it, how did it perform?
I too agree with BHJ but wouldn't go much over 175 if the Savage is a 1:12. Again try the 165-168gr stuff and work up. I have found in my experience that you never know what the rifle might like best until you feed it a range of stuff. Also totally agree with keeping the brass separate and neck...
I think it all depends on what you are wanting to do. I am old school so I still personally use a beam. I load bulk plinking rounds on a progressive press and I reload my stuff for accuracy on a single stage.
HAHA!!! funny story, just finished bottling 2 cases of beer, I'll let you know how it turns out!!! my two favorite things to reload, brass and bottles, haha!!!!
I'll put it to you like this you probably won't see the savings initially but you will eventually. But as many of the guys have said it is a blast to do. Also you get to "customize" your loadings which it awesome.
I have used a lot of presses from RCBS, Lee, Hornady, and Dillon. I have to be honest, it is worth going with the Dillon just for the customer service. Their 550B is a phenominal press. The one downside to it would have to be that it does'nt auto index, but that is not a big deal. Like almost...
