    As a teen I built similar stands with minimal wood. I'm old and sore now, I'll stick to my safe, comfy, low effort Summit.

    I have always believed the main rut is after the first of the year. What we think of as the main rut in November is a pre rut of sorts, weather and moon dependent. I always more rut type activity and we had far worse problems with our rabbit dogs running deer in mid January. Even training dogs...
