Only time I had that kinda issue was on opening day. Like I said in a previous post, wait a few weeks and all the "weekend warriors" stop coming out to hunt.
Another piece of advice. You need to do your scouting. Me and Bear44 discovered a few great spots but it took a few years of scouting and hunting to find them. Most are .5 mile in or further. A hand held GPS will make life a little easier.
I hunt Scull Shoals (part of Oconee National Forest) and have always had good luck. Never go out on opening day of anything though. Once you get a few weeks into the season all the dingdongs stop hunting and I can get my hunt on. Plenty of deer in those woods.

What's wrong with having an accurate rifle as your hunting rifle? My SPS Tactical AAC is very accurate and great for hunting or long range. If I do my job it'll do its job.
