Just a few days ago actually. The TBI body was cracked where the fuel line adapter screws in. I pulled the whole TBI off to rebuild it and found the crack. I had a $30.00 spare from a junk yard. Rebuilt it instead and good to go. How did the steering shaft swap go? I think that is next on my list.
I've got a small fuel leak out the back of my TBI. I can't seem to stop it regardless of new gaskets and removing and tightening fittings. About to pull the whole unit off tomorrow, it is driving me nuts.
Mine does as well. I had surging issues and found a fuel leak. My fuel return line is stripped out where it screws into the TBI adapter. Real PITA as it looks like the best fix is to replace the braided line. (Pic is not my truck - found online)
I think the joint is part of my issue as well. I have read a lot about the Jeep XJ shaft swap. I may try that in the future.

Red on red! I like it because its just like my first new truck I ever purchased back in '88. Except it was burgundy. This pic is from around late 1993 or 1994, 6" lift and 35" BFG's and a GM crate ZZ3 engine. It would run out pretty well.
Got rid of the Cj and picked up something with a little more room and power. Just needs a little TLC and a few odds and ends to be in top shape. 1988 4x4 Silverado. (With a tree-fiddy)
