you pretty much have to use a booster on anything with a tilt up barrel, usually. Fixed barrels, PCCs, or super light cans with heavy ammo don't usually use them. Your octane probably came with a 45 booster already. Since boosters are can-pattern specific, the easiest thing to do it get the same...
You need threaded barrels for the guns you want to suppress
And a booster for each thread pitch. 9 and 45 are typically different.
The other option is griffin quick attach and you’d only need one booster, but will need their adapter for every barrel.
I'm seeing on reddit a few people have gotten individual form 4s in under a week. 7 calder days. It's infuriating. Should be abolished completely, but if they won't do that, should be an instant NICS check and you're done. you literally can't kill anyone with a suppressor any easier than you...
I hear good things about it. I went with a griffin Revolution 45 for my pistol can needs. Multiple sizes, plus you can shoot it on rifles in small doses.
Might be a good multi caliber option for you.
You can sell it as long as it’s in non-NFA configuration. Treated as a title 1 at that point. You can ask them to remove it from registry and new buyer will have to form 1 themselves.
That said, probably worth it to keep the lower in case you want to build a different SBR later.
also, you're welcome to shoot my stuff if you want to try it out. Happy to let people mess with NFA as it's a gateway and some guys helped me get into it back in the day.
what 300bo? Subs from a long barrel or supers from an SBR? that makes a difference.
I bought a Griffin Revolution 45 can because it sounds good and it's light on pistols/pccs but it can live on an HD rifle that sees light centerfire rifle use. Nice that it fills those rolls well.
I have...
22 sounds good through bigger cans. It's unneeded weight and volume, and as stated above 22 will lead up a can and make a mess. Through a pistol can it's annoying, but a rifle can you can dump a few rounds of supersonic rifle rounds through it and "clean it" a little, but still not best...
Griffin Revolution 45. Good can that does a lot of things well enough, plus it can be used on rifle calibers hunting or for HD. It lives on a Glock, scorpion, or 300bo SBR when not at the range.
1911s really are the best host. The hammer holds the slide closed just a bit longer than someThjng...
If you are near atlanta I'd be happy to let you shoot my stuff with cans. My pistol can will do anything up to 45 and I have threaded 9, 45, etc to play with. 22 can on rifle or pistol. 308 can on a rattler with subs sounds like a staple gun.
here is the correct order to purchase suppressors. You "need" 3 and many go with more eventually which is fine, too.
First is a 308 can. Allows you to shoot 308/556/300BO without hearing damage in a home defense or hunting situation. Still not quiet but will not make you cross the "instant...
cans stay on hosts so they are ready to go.
I bought a tackle box organizer for all the extras like mounts, springs, stock barrels, and if I put my cans in their shorter configurations the spare parts can live in there.
The tackle box is stored in a Harbor Freight US General tool chest in my...
You don’t need to wait 9 months to bring them with you.
Submit the “temporary travel to new place” form now.
Submit a “this is my new address now” form once you’re all moved in.
Real answer. I get you. I’ve moved with NFA and it’s a pain in the ass.
Return the SBRs ribbon-NFA configuration and sell the uppers and kits. The lowers aren’t worth much unless they are rare but likely have your engraving. So either keep jut the lower, sell, gift, or cut up.
The cans...
Yup. I bought a rex MG7k for $321 or something at GA firing line. Then pick whatever $300 22 can you want.
But since these are basically worthless to sell used and a lifetime purchase, I would seriously advise you to buy something you really want even if it’s a bit more. Also look into mounts...
