    Should help. In unsuppressed guns it completely eliminates bolt carrier bounce. Few years back, the Marine Corps tested all the proprietary buffer systems, comparing them to the full-size M16A2 buffer system. The Vltor A5 system beat them all for reliability, including the M16A2 rifle system.

    I can’t comment in the length, but the Vltor A5 buffer system is the tits. You can buy as a complete kit, or a la carte. I use the A5H3 buffer with my 11.5” barrels, along with the Sprinco green buffer spring.......but that’s the shortest length I’ve built.
