Been running a Griffin Armament Recce 5 for my dedicated 556 can for a couple years now with no issues. When I ordered it, it was one of the shortest and quietest cans in the market and has a taper mount system that’s pretty slick. There may be newer or better cans now, not sure. Still worth a look.
Centerfire handgun suppressors aren’t really worth it to me. Just too heavy and cumbersome for serious use on pistols.
Rimfire suppressor is the cheapest and the one I use most. No need to worry about hearing protection and light enough to use on handguns and rifles.
A dedicated 556 can...
Been digging my M&P22 Compact and CGS Hydra AL. Very light, functions flawless with standard and high velocity. The short barrel keeps both subsonic so even bulk pack stuff is quiet.
Had a P322 previously. Worked just as well accept the mags are a little more finicky to load. They hold more...
I’d also consider the Griffin Recce 7. It’ll save you some cash and it’s still one of the quietest cans if all out sound reduction is your concern. Their taper mount is sweet and it’s muzzle device is included.
Not trying to highjack but does anyone know how this stacks up to the Griffin Armament Recce 5? The OSS seems to be the more durable setup but also costs more, weighs more, is longer and louder.
Is that extra durability necessary?
No, that should be fine, they use the same round. But for instance, 223 is the same caliber but is a much higher pressure rifle round and would blow it apart most likely.
