  1. Operation Blackout

Looks like a waste of money, just someone that wants to capitalize on the fear of blackouts and prepping scenarios. Better off doing basic research yourself than pay some schmuck to point you on a path you'll research into anyways.
  2. Couples and Families to Plan and Prep together

I like to keep track of certain places that I like for said situation that I can go to without an electronic device. The market sucks now and there are plenty of overpriced places just sitting empty. This idea is for Extreme Situations only, may never happen, but I like to have a redundancy plan.
  3. Couples and Families to Plan and Prep together

I could see a bug out location for a group to secure if for some instance a bug out was necessary & so extreme that it covered a large area, but I agree, bug out is definitely a last option. I always thought if I HAD to bug out, I'd focus on empty homes on Zillow and choose depending on build...
  4. Couples and Families to Plan and Prep together

Be kind of difficult to coordinate anything solid unless the group is living within walking distance. I can't see long range groups working out unless you're good with the others coming to "group" at your place. It's just real difficult to strategize anything unless they are on your street or...
  5. Couples and Families to Plan and Prep together

I think I fall within team Ω. Just going to sit back and watch society tear it's self apart while I hunker down.
  6. Couples and Families to Plan and Prep together

Water has always been lacking in my preps, I changed that last week and ordered five 55 gallon barrels from Uline last week. The just started letting you pick up from their warehouse so no shipping to worry about. Picking them up tomorrow with a barrel pump. Also getting a few more reels of barb...
  7. Long Term Food Storage Options

Compared to the price tags I have on my others from around 2015-18, they range from $15-$30 higher now. Given the egg and meat prices the past couple years, I can see that being the main reason. Then add the inflation on top of everything else and it sure adds up.
  8. Long Term Food Storage Options

Just ordered 7 can's of the Augason Farms to add to my Mountain House stockpile. Thanks for the recomendation, Mountain House prices are insane now compared to pre-pandemic.
  9. Preparedness checklist?

I wish I could say that I'd have neighbors I could trust to give a gun to, but sadly I don't have much faith in their integrity. Not only that but I have found a couple needles tossed into the wooded section of my yard along the street with an assortment of trash like beer cans. I'm holding out...
  10. Preparedness checklist?

Same here, the idea of reaching out to people hoping to find like minded individuals has me worried that the person I believe to have good intentions may become a future adversary that knows of my location/preparations. I try to stay in touch with my neighbors, but I never reveal my prepper...
  11. More SHTF questions

I think it's only necessary to wear the mask on when your strangling your chicken. The experience causes the meat flavor to change, you can almost taste the fear. Or, if they know it's you who's killing them the flavor will have a sadness to it, but it'll give you the chance to look them in...
  12. SHTF questions

Yup, a legit midget needs both hands to hold onto the shaft.
  13. Preparedness checklist?

I've read that pine needles are a good source of vitamin c in a pinch. If you use fresh growth needles it'll taste better, just need to steep/boil it awhile before drinking.
  14. Preparedness checklist?

Stock up on lot's of aluminum foil, not only does it create fashionable headwear, but it helps with easy clean up in the kitchen. Lugging buckets of water for household essentials sucks, the foil will save you time while you have it. Lots of barbed wire and wood working material tools. Linseed...
  15. Cigarette long term storage.

You can do what I did, just buy the seeds. I haven't gotten to planting mine yet, but looking forward to it. I don't smoke, but it seems an easy sale if shtf. There are many verities that have high amounts of nicotine to choose from.
  16. Barbarians at the gate

That or their bodies will be used as a totem to dissuade others from acting in the same manor. They can hang on their crucifix with a sign reminding others of their sin.
  17. Do you have a faraday cage/box/bag etc.?

I've been wanting to build my own faraday cage for awhile, figured when I buy some fun electronic toy's like thermal and night vision that's where I'd store them. Along with all the survival data I haven't had a chance to make hard copies of yet.
  18. whats in your bag i should consider putting in mine?

These look like a nice set, even has a strap that goes over the shoe to reduce the chance of it coming off. https://www.amazon.com/Xproutdoor-Cleats-Traction-crampons-Size-Medium/dp/B07KY6FBQY/ref=zg_bs_3421064011_sccl_96/136-7586297-2036327?psc=1
  19. whats in your bag i should consider putting in mine?

Venom Steel nitrile gloves & smoke canisters.
  20. Barbarians at the gate

I doubt that lifestyle would get them far here in Georgia, Brooklyn & Queens pretty much have the laws that cater to criminals so they no longer fear other civilians. They know they have superior firepower when the others are unarmed & unprepared.
