    I've got one that looks like a Mr Coffee that you can set over a propane stove. We used to use it when tent camping.

    Besides the non-ethanol gas and regular oil changes. I have always done with my generators is run them monthly. And hook up a light or some other load to it so you can be sure it is making juice.

    It doesn't take long for things to get primitive when the electricity is off for an extended period. All this fancy technology we use is not much better than doorstops without juice.

    That's the issue I have. My Generac 6500 with 8125 surge won't reliably start my AC/Heat pump. Does fine for everything else. But, in cold weather I have a Buck fireplace insert that will heat most of my house once it's really going. So no worries about heat.
