    Crisco candles with pot for a lid (in Mason Jar). Cost about 5 bucks for 100 hours of light/heat. I have made them myself and they last a very long time. My wife burns them every night as she likes the ambiance in the bedroom.

    If it gets bad enough, a barking dog would be like ringing the dinner bell for those types you do not want around your property. It would be better to have dogs that know when they should bark vs. those that bark at everything.

    I use a ghillie kettle when camping. It is awesome. Recently purchased an EcoZoom Versa rocket stove and I apparently need to practice using it more. Requires constant feeding of wood, as in do not leave it for more than a few minutes.
