  1. Looking for the best martial arts for discipline and self defense for my daughter and then son

  3. Wet tumbling 101

I'll get these on occasion. An under-rated benefit of the 1050's swage rod is that you'll immediately notice if something goes wrong with decapping.

Walkthrough on how the Super 1050 operates and die selection for loading 9mm
  5. Wet tumbling 101

Lemi-Shine does give a nice sparkle to the brass. Downside is discoloration if you get distracted and leave the brass soaking in the tumbler overnight 😉
  6. Wet tumbling 101

I switched to wet tumbling years ago to reduce mess. Here’s a video on how I’m doing it these days.

  10. Target focus and making tight shots

I emphasize target-focused shooting in my classes regardless of skill level. It becomes more and more necessary the farther you move from slow fire on a single target. If you want to place center hits quickly on multiple targets while moving, looking where you want the bullets makes it a lot easier.

  17. Anybody else quicker without dot?

It's only for very tight shots like plates or head boxes at 20+ yards that you need to wait for a stable dot. Most of the time you're shooting a streak. No amount of shooting slow will get you shooting fast. You have to hit the gas and sort things out at speed. It's an ugly process where you...
  18. Anybody else quicker without dot?

Close targets, say IPSC targets inside 7 yards, irons vs dot doesn't make a difference as I'm relying on physical index to make the shot and doing little if any visual confirmation with the sights. My times and hits on a 5- or 7-yard Bill or Blake drill don't change between irons and a dot. The...
