  1. Genny at Costco $599

Grew up in Genny Country "78 (Chautauqua County). Cream ale was the choice of us teenagers. PBR was an alternative. To this day, still keep some around for the wife to cook with.
  2. CMP has Federal Gold Medal 308 168 grBTHP 200 RD/CS for $196.00

Thanks OP, I received my 3 cases this week after a little issue with FEDEX. Only a 2 month wait this time. During these times, this was a great deal.
  3. MF that are Concerned with your asking price

Had a garage sale once, early-bird guy offered me $10 for something I had marked $15. I said "sure", he pulls out a wad of $20 bills, I asked him if he had the correct change, he didn't. So I tell him if I have to make change then it's back to $15. He left and I sold it for $15 later to...
  4. Item Gone: FS/FT Ruger PC9 Takedown Carbine

One of my Sub 2ks is a fun gun for the range, never had any issues with it. (Takes the glock mags) The other is the multi mag version still NIB. No it's no PC (which I also have) but it's nice to just fold it instead of taking it apart like the PC. The only issue is the cheek soreness after...
  5. What's your average deer killshot distance?

    Bow-5 to 25yds Rifle-20 to 40yds Shotun-8 to 30yds Pistol-12-77yds Airgun-52yds
  6. Is the .35 Remington dead?

I'm old, so it was through accumulation throughout the years. Bought a lot through Midway years ago when they had them as "factory seconds" also can cast my own if the need arises, going to try some of those in my air rifle some time. Bought a couple thousand TC flat-points getting ready for...
  7. Is the .35 Remington dead?

I still have my Marlin and T/C 14" in 35Rem. 2 cases of factory ammo, hundreds of empties, couple thousand bullets in several weights/styles, press, dies, casting equipment, pounds of powder and most of all plenty of primers. Enough for 10 generations of hunting. The 35 Rem will never die.
  8. We’ve come full circle with washing machines

We're ready to buy us some Speed Queen, if we can find them locally. So far we haven't. My Mother has had one for decades.
  9. A VERY CLOSE CALL, TO CLOSE FOR COMFORT

I had a pair of deer whistles (properly installed) on my 1999 Ford Ranger. Daughter was driving right behind me and later said "I saw that deer run out of the woods and right in front of you Dad". 40 Mph and the dang doe jumped up and ran away, leaving me with a smashed hood, grill...
  10. First Air gun Deer

    Check this out; https://www.airforceairguns.com/AirForce-Airguns-Outlet-Store-p/u100r.htm
  11. First Air gun Deer

I have the "Texan" in .357 but it's the long one, like a foot longer than the Bulldog and can't see swinging that in the blind. I haven't even shot it yet. (got it on a deal) But the .45 Texan Carbine is in my sights. The FPE you can get from that is 2-3x what my Bulldog spits out. Just...
  12. First Air gun Deer

Three basic ways to recharge the air cylinder on the gun; 1. Hand Pump- $49-$250 2. Larger air tanks/hoses- $100-$900 3. High pressure Air Compressor- $300-$3500 ( I do have all 3, hand pumping sucks for old guys) Projectiles-Prices vary and go up and down with sales/availability. Last case of...
  13. First Air gun Deer

No, your price is just fine and I'm sure someone will steal it away pretty soon. (I should get 10% for this post, lol)
  14. First Air gun Deer

Look up Pitbull Airguns https://www.pitbullairguns.com Doubles the price, out of my budget but they seemed to have tamed it to more backyard friendly.
  15. First Air gun Deer

I haven't chrony'd it but estimates are approx. 800 FPS. Similar to a 38sp. That's why shot placement is crucial and I did wait at least 15 minutes after I hit him before I left the blind to check for blood. Both shots were pass through.
  16. First Air gun Deer

Primitive Weapons Archery equipment, air bows, .30-cal. or larger air rifles and muzzleloaders or muzzeleloading shotguns are legal during primitive weapons season. Scopes are legal.
  17. First Air gun Deer

Thank you, there is a little downside. Added ancillary equipment to fill the beast. Since I already have it for other PCP guns, it’s just a matter of selecting which one to use.
  18. First Air gun Deer

Lol, I use a Bushnell red dot since I really don't need the magnification at short distances. This guy isn't using the rotating 5 round magazine. He's in single shoot mode. Must be using a longer pellet.
  19. First Air gun Deer

It'll depend 100+ with the right ones. In all my life with rifle, shotgun, bow, pistol, now airgun, I have never shot a deer past 75 yards (pistol). With my Bulldog, I wouldn't want to go much further than I did.
  20. First Air gun Deer

It was paced out at 52 yards. He went about 45 yards, he was just standing there barely breathing, put another one in him and he fell 15 yards away. Second shot went through the heart. No blood though on entry or exit wounds.
