    Stoning the bottom of the slide will take care of the area marked "D" in red. looks like you only have to take .001" from "B" on the frame and you should be GTG. Id use a stone on the frame rails and check as I go, you should be able to get a really nice fit!

    Very nice Colt, However, Im pretty sure Colt started producing Stainless 1911s in 1985. Anything prior to that would be nickel plated carbon. I could be wrong of course, I just see a lot of confusion with these older Colts. Either way, Good luck.

    Its the chamber size. There is nothing wrong with it per se, its a tight target chamber. This is common in target grade 22 pistols. That is where I have seen it and experienced it several times. When fired, the gun cycles fine, but a loaded round is very difficult to extract.
