My suspicion is that Tesla is taking a pause on installing chargers now that the Tesla charger setup is the accepted standard. It was always a race to see which would become the standard, and Tesla won.
Drive enough chargers into the market that your design becomes the way, then let others...

Remember that if Tesla, a company started a little over 20 years ago, loses just another 30% of its value, it will be #2 in company value compared to Toyota. Which means that Tesla would still be more valuable than every other car company in the world.
In my humble opinion the purpose of this rule change is:
1. Grandstanding. It's an election year, gotta apeal to the base "We tried everything we could to ban those mean, old guns"
2. Frighten you into "compliance", a.k.a. Universal Background Checks. Most people would be scared to transfer...
If the court rules that braces are stocks then the only legal thing a person can do is to register them as SBRs or make them "long enough"; i.e. add longer muzzle devices or replace the barrels. In some cases the brace can be removed and it could stay a legal pistol.
So GM has a quality problem (big surprise) and now every battery powered everything is at risk of exploding.
